FAQs about Invisalign
What is Invisalign?
Invisalign is an innovative orthodontic treatment method which uses a series of clear, plastic aligners to gently move your teeth into position. These aligners are virtually invisible, which means people won’t even be able to tell you’re having treatment.
How does Invisalign work?
If you are recommended Invisalign treatment, you’ll be issued with a set of clear plastic aligners that fit over your teeth like a thin sports mouthguard. Every two-to-three weeks, you’ll need to change these aligners with a new set which will build on the work of the previous one. Over your treatment period, these aligners will gradually move your teeth into their desired position.
Does Invisalign hurt?
No, Invisalign doesn’t hurt. In fact, it is one of the most comfortable orthodontic treatment methods available. Whenever you replace your set of aligners you may experience a little bit of tenderness, but this will only last for a day or two and can be treated with over-the-counter pain relief.
Who can have Invisalign treatment?
Nearly everyone can have Invisalign treatment as experienced orthodontists, like Dr Smith, are able to treat most cases with Invisalign. It’s also a suitable treatment solution for teenagers as it has its own brand, Invisalign Teen.
How much does Invisalign cost?
The cost of Invisalign treatment depends on the type of Invisalign treatment you have – Invisalign, Invisalign Teen, Invisalign Lite, Invisalign i7. We’ve outlined some of these costs on our cost and finance page, but you’ll be given a quote for your treatment at your free consultation.
