Dr Rachel Smith is recognised as one of the top Invisalign® providers in Auckland. She holds a Doctorate in Orthodontics from the University of Melbourne and a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Otago. She is also a member of the New Zealand Association of Orthodontists, New Zealand Dental Association and the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh).
Tara is both our Patient Care Manager and Treatment Coordinator here at Eden Orthodontics. She has many years’ experience in account management, sales, marketing, and customer service.
Tara has been working with Dr Smith since the inception of Eden Orthodontics and is loving spending time in the practice: meeting and building relationships with our patients, parents, and suppliers, and of course seeing new smiles being created.
Tara lives locally in Mt Eden with her two children, her cat Timothy, and her dog Bailey. Outside of work, if she’s not powering up the mountain, she’s spending time on her yoga mat.
While Jenn is Australian born and bred she now calls Auckland home and shares her life here with her Kiwi man. Jennifer has been in orthodontics since 2012 and has been part of Dr Smith’s dream team since 2015. Jenn qualified as an Orthodontic Auxiliary in 2019 and now leads our clinical team.
When Jenn is not in the practice, you will find her enjoying a cup of coffee, listening to music, lifting weights or planning her next trip around the world (virtually at the moment of course!).
Stacey, originally from Zimbabwe but a true Kiwi at heart, joined the team in 2019 as a dental assistant and completed her Orthodontic Auxiliary qualification in early 2024.
She lives centrally with her partner and their two beloved dogs, Nala and Leia. Stacey loves running with the dogs, gardening, hitting the gym, and attending live music events with friends.
Her dream holiday is to escape to Mexico, to explore cenotes, go swimming in the ocean, and sip cocktails as the sun sets. When she relaxes at home, you’ll find her on the couch watching "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia."
Bailey is the Director of office morale at Eden Orthodontics and she takes her job very seriously. She has a wide range or responsibilities including testing various chairs and stools for napping quality, squishing the cushions to make them really comfortable, looking cute and making people smile.
Bailey ensures a stress-free environment by offering her belly up for a rub at every possible moment.
On the weekend, Bailey’s hobbies include long walks in the park, eating anything and everything she can find (including aligners!!!) sniffing anything and everything and napping anywhere and everywhere.
Make sure you say hi next time you spot Bailey practicing being a dog!
Tymara has always had a keen interest in the Orthodontic industry and is very excited to be part of the Eden Orthodontics team! Having had braces herself, Tymara knows the journey first-hand so can relate with our patients and parents alike. She brings a cheeky smile, lots of laughter and a can-do attitude with her to work every day.
When Tymara’s not navigating her way through chairside assisting or creating the perfect trays in the sterilisation room at the practice, she loves spending time with her family. She has nieces and nephews to spoil and sisters to provide support and care.
Tymara lives out west with her partner in crime, Toast the cat! And if she’s not waiting patiently for her next online parcel to arrive, she’ll be bottomless brunching with friends!
After coming for a consult at Eden Orthodontics to begin her aligner treatment Ayla was asked if she would like to apply to work here at the end of her school year. And she has been here ever since!
Ayla has first-hand experience with what it is like to have attachments on her teeth, wear aligners and juggle a busy work environment!
When Ayla isn’t at the practice, she’s out exploring New Zealand beaches. She has been lucky enough to travel to Australia often, to venture into Europe too and she hopes to be able to do more travelling as the opportunity arises.
Lauren brings four years of experience in dental care to her role here at Eden Orthodontics, along with a warm, calming presence that helps patients feel at ease. She loves being part of each patient’s journey and finds it incredibly rewarding to see their confidence grow throughout treatment.
Outside of the clinic, Lauren is also a professional hair and makeup artist with a passion for bridal work. She has two adorable cats, Helena Bonham Catter and Penelope Furrington, and in her spare time, she loves to travel, read, dance, and lose herself in good music or a great TV show.
Angela is all things business—with a dash of humour and a whole lot of heart.
She brings a wealth of experience in corporate finance, along with a love of streamlining systems and digging into data. At Eden Orthodontics, she thrives in the collaborative team environment, adding value through smart reporting and process improvement.
Moving into a part-time role has given Angela the work/life balance she was after — leaving more time for outdoor adventures, experimenting with new baking ideas, and keeping up with her two active boys. She also bakes for a local charity, sharing homemade treats with those in the community who need a little extra sweetness.
Shannon brings a vibrant, infectious energy and a warm welcome to the front desk. With a degree in psychology and a sharp sense of humour, she keeps things running smoothly while creating a relaxed, friendly atmosphere for patients and families alike.
Before joining the team, Shannon spent a year or so as the trusted nanny to Dr. Smith’s children — so she’s been part of the extended Eden Orthodontics family for a while! Her background and this experience have equipped her with a natural ability to connect, empathise, and multitask under pressure.
When she’s not greeting patients with a smile, Shannon loves kicking around a football, catching up with friends, or hitting the dance floor for a boogie. Always up for a laugh and a chat, she helps make every visit feel a little more like home.
Angelica is originally from Mexico where she worked in her family’s Dental practice as a Dentist. She moved to New Zealand over a decade ago, to embrace a new chapter in her life. She is currently training to be an Orthodontic Auxiliary and is really enjoying working in the field of orthodontics to help patients achieve their best smiles.
At home, she enjoys a fulfilling family life with her supportive husband and their energetic young son. Beyond her professional pursuits, Angelica has a deep passion for cooking, often experimenting with recipes and sharing her creations with family and friends. Her love for baking allows her to express her creativity and bring joy to those around her especially her Eden Orthodontics team members!
